When it comes to college wrestling accomplishments, Cael is the king...no doubt.

But, there are many before and since whose accomplishments during their collegiate careers were nothing less than extraordinary. In that discussion of college wrestling greats are names like Dake, Steiber, Diakamihalis, Kemp, Smith, and Gable. In fact, the pantheon of great collegiate wrestlers includes many more names worthy of inclusion. Among those names is, without question, 4-time NCAA finalist and 2-time champion, Darryl Burley [BTW: he only lost to 3 wrestlers during his collegiate career: Olympic Champion Randy Lewis, and NCAA Champions Mike Land and Jim Gibbons].

It is our tremendous honor to announce that Coach Burley will be our clinician this coming Sunday, October 8th, at Cannon School.

Beyond being a permanent part of the lore of American collegiate wrestling by dint of his extraordinary accomplishments 40 years ago, Darryl Burley is an extraordinary human being. He is humble. He is soft-spoken. He will not be teaching the latest trendy moves (although he may well show the Mallory and the 1/4 Nelson, two moves which, ironically, have made a recent comeback via Instagram), nor will he try to impress anyone with his remarkable achievements, including his masters degree, his law degree or his 30 years of working selflessly in the field of health and human services.

What Coach Burley will provide on Sunday is his time, care for young people, love and wisdom. We hope that many of you will come to spend some time and learn from an incredible person.
