Quincy Monday won 2 state titles in Texas and 2 state titles In North Carolina. Should he be listed in our list of 4 time state champions. I think he should but I wanted to get the opinions of others... Thoughts???
-
No. I think you should have to win all 4 titles in our state.
-
Yes, and just add add a note that the first two were in TX.
-
Absolutely!! Quincy Monday was a 4x State Champion, bottom line. He deserves to have his name listed along all other 4x Champs. If needed, make an asterisk or some type of note that two State Titles were won in Texas.
-
A lot of it is semantics, but he should not the designated as one of our 4 timers. He can say he is a 4 timer and can be referred to as a four timer, but he is not a NC 4 timer. If someone from NC wins the 106lb tittle his freshman year and then moves to Alaska and wins 3 more state championships is he also listed as one of our 4 timers? Does Texas also claim Monday as one of their 4 timers? I am not anti Monday. I follow him close at Princeton and find myself cheering for him every time I see him wrestle, but he is not one of NC's 4 timers, IMO.

If you do the asterisk/note that the first two were in TX you are clarifying that he is not one of OUR four times but rather just recognizing him as A four timer. I would hate to think neither state would give him recognition as a four timer b/c he was not a Texas or a NC four timer. Plus, what is the harm in giving him the recognition?
-
he is a 4x State Champion but an NC 2xer. Shouldn't go down as one of our 4xers but should be recognized as A 4xer if that makes sense.
-
Put him down as a 4xer. or Note that 2 came from texas. you can't pretend he didn't win 4 titles. just put *2 state titles were won in Texas if you want to do that.

Jamie, whatever you decide to do just get with Nicky about it and he'll get it done.
