Am I reading it correctly that high school girls no longer have the option to compete in the high school boys division at the USSWA pre-season tournaments? Help me understand why they can't choose to compete against the boys. I understand not letting them do both boys and girls divisions, but they should still have the choice.

You read that correctly. We have co-ed divisions from tot through middle schools. High School divisions are separated. The only exception will be if a girl shows and has nobody to wrestle within the girl's division.
