Uwharrie Charter Academy in Asheboro will be hosting a round robin tournament on Nov. 23rd. There are currently 4 teams committed and I need 3-4 more teams. Everyone should get 4-5 matches. If you are interested please email me at chris_waddell@uwharriecharter.org.
3rd Annual Wrestling For Hope Invitational
Date: November 23, 2019
Entry Fee: $175
Teams: Uwharrie Charter Academy, West Stanley, Thomasville, Montgomery Central, NCLA
New Format: 6 man round robin every wrestler will get 4 to 5 matches. If you have a 7 man pool split them up into a pool a and pool b. Pool a has 4 wrestlers and round robin it. Pool b has 3 wrestlers round robin it. Take the pool a winner and let him wrestle the pool b 2nd place Take the pool b winner and have him wrestle the pool a 2nd place. Take winner of those two matches and they will wrestle for 1st and 2nd. Take the losers from the cross bracket match and they will wrestle for 3rd and 4th. Have the 3rd and 4th place wrestlers in pool a wrestle the 3rd place wrestler from pool b for 5th-7th, if the 2 wrestlers in the finals had met previously in the pool rounds, they would not wrestle again, but instead use the result of their head to head match to determine 1st/2nd. In this situation the wrestlers going for 3rd and 4th would have also met in their pool, and we would use their head to head match to determine 3rd/4th. Team score will be kept.

7:30-8:30- weigh-ins
8:30-9:30- scratch meeting
10:00- wrestling begins
12:00-12:30- lunch break
3:00/4:00-Final round begins
Awards: Medals for 1st -3rd individuals, Team Champion, Team Runner-up, and MOW
Hospitality: Available to coaches, media, and table workers
Admission: $7 all day
