This is from the intermediary I have been communicating with regarding coach Carothers:
"I received a phone call this afternoon from John. He sounded awful and weak. His first words were "I beat it". We spoke for 5 min. or so and his voice was trailing off so it was a good time to hang up. I will call him tomorrow. He will offer is own thanks to everyone when he can so for today I told hime I would do that. Please pass this along and it feels like good new finally."
