Had something personal against the kid. Being "disgusted" and being so emotional about it was just trying to sell the call in my opinion

I remember when I was coaching at Western Alamance(1996-1998), a funny story. We had a dual with Southern Guilford at home. The official rode the bus with the SG team. We were not going to win the dual but thought this was very unprofessional of an official to do. Thoughts?

The wrestlers and the action were too far away to really see what occurred.  And with the "wrestling shorts", you could not see the wrestler's hand or fingers based on the camera.

Everything after the match by the official was unprofessional; his language, mannerisms and the length of time after the match spent arguing with the coaches.  If an official is not going to change his call, then he should move on to the next match.  The conversation can only continue to go downhill.

I've watched this video enough and paused it enough and I never see the Exeter wrestler do what he was penalized for. His fingers are on the cheek and not the body part indicated by the official.

The length of time is not up to the official but the coaches. Pretty sure this is a NFHS rule. As long as the wrestler is inside the dimensions of the mat, the call can be contested by coaches and a protest can be filed. Once a wrestler/coach leaves the mat the contested match took place on, there can be no arguement or protest. I once saw a coach in GA hold a mat up for over a half hour because he stood inside the circle and refused to leave hoping that the call against his wrestler would be overturned. The Exeter coaches were fighting for their wrestler who had been wrongfully DQ'ed by someone with an agenda.
