Beginning this pre-season anyone who plans to coach any wrestler at any USSWA event will be required to provide their own background check clearance. Anyone, including parents, who does not have background check clearance will be required to purchase a spectator ticket and sit in the stands. I will be finding a company to provide to people who choose to undergo a background check.

Coaches who are an official part of any high school or middle school coaching staff (will be required to demonstrate proof of that if requested) as recognized by the school will be exempt from this requirement as they undergo annual background checks. Additionally, anyone who is currently employed full-time as a school teacher, or public servant otherwise (police officer, fireman/woman, etc.) will be exempt from this as they also undergo annual background checks.

For wrestlers who do not have coaches we will start providing a coach for these wrestlers. These will be coaches who are paid to perform this essential function on behalf of the tournament and the wrestlers who are in need of being coached.

Further details will be provided at a later date. There will be no exceptions to this rule. All coaches who intend on coaching wrestlers from matside MUST demonstrate they have passed a background check. All other spectators will be in the stands or elsewhere in the facility.
