I have looked through the rulebook and can't find a reference for it anywhere, so I wanted to ask the refs: Is there a rule anywhere against entering multiple wrestlers from the same school in a single weight class in an individual tournament? I know it happens quite a bit. When I was in high school 20 years ago(!), my team went to a tournament that allowed each school to enter 2 guys per weight. I heard a couple of years later that the NCHSAA told them they could no longer do that. So, is it illegal per the rulebook, or does the state just want to discourage it from happening?

The NFHS covers representation for duals and it is one wrestler per weight class per school (you can weigh in multiple guys at the same weight but only one can compete. Individual tournaments are up to state associations. Some states allow two wrestlers per weight class going into districts or sectionals while others don't. Some states allow a Varsity team to enter and a "B" team from the same school to enter.

Pre/Off-season tounaments are pretty much, enter who you want to.

I'd check your state's handbook for the answer.
