My name is Heath Gonyer, and I currently live and work full-time in Wilmington, North Carolina. Wrestling has been a major part of my life for over 15 years, and I’m passionate about helping grow the sport here locally by offering private and small-group lessons to athletes looking to take their skills to the next level.
I’m a North Carolina State Champion, 4-Year Division I Wrestler at Appalachian State University, and SOCON Freshman of the Year. Through years of competing and coaching, I’ve developed a system focused on takedown efficiency, top control, and competition mindset — built to help wrestlers perform with confidence and consistency.
Training Options:
1-Hour Sessions: Focused technique & drilling
2-Hour Sessions: Full breakdown + live applications
Private or Small Group: 1–4 athletes (larger groups upon request)
Custom Programs: Tailored to goals, season, or team needs

Open Dates and Scheduling / Oak Hill (VA) Looking for small teams to travel here
« Last post by dwymer on September 29, 2025, 11:41:51 AM »Oak Hill Academy (VA) is looking for small teams for a pair of jamboree dual meets, where we'll invite multiple small teams, break them up appropriately to create two makeshift squads so that we can make more matches, create an exciting dual meet environment and to greatly reduce the occurrence of forfeits which does not sell our sport very well of course. There will be spotlight wrestling and music.
The first jamboree will be on Wednesday, December 10th, 2025 and the second will be on Wednesday, January 28th, 2026. Both boys and girls are welcome. We just want to give as many small teams as possible a proper dual meet feel. Weigh-ins at 5pm with a 6pm start time. Please email Coach Wymer at dwymer@oak-hill.net if interested.
