Hello North Carolina Wrestling Community,
Due to the growth of non-school affiliated wrestling across North Carolina over the past several years, the owners of The NCMAT and The North Carolina Wrestling Forum have decided to work in partnership to bring about awareness of child sexual predators. The truth of the matter is some who are involved in working with wrestlers in these types of settings are often incapable of passing a background check, and as a result they decide to work within the club team wrestling community. Many of the parents who have children involved have no idea that some of these "coaches" have not been background checked, or that they would not pass a background check. Our goal is to educate as many parents, wrestlers, and others involved in wrestling in order to bring awareness to anyone who may fit the description of the information provided.
Working in concert with Abolition NC, we believe the information provide for all to review will benefit everyone who reads the bulletin points, and completes the online tutorial. There is no cost to anyone for this nor does anyone need to be a paid subscriber to The NCMAT in order to be able to participate in the tutorial. It is a simple register and complete program that will take just a few hours, if that.
We encourage everyone to read the bulletin points in order to make yourself aware of the information that Abolition NC has provided for Educators across North Carolina. When we completed this tutorial, we were amazed at how much information they provided and decided then that I wanted to make this program available to as many people as possible.
