Does this need to be a graduating senior or can a student already in college apply?

WIBN Charlotte conducts ~ 4 networking events per year to help connect wrestlers and supporters of wrestling.  Our goal is to help others become more successful in their professional careers and, in turn, these individuals can leverage their professional success to become advocates and supporters of the sport within their local community.  While not a fundraising organization and a non-profit organization (operating division of the National Wrestling Coaches Association), the Chapter does generate revenue from successful events that is reinvested to the local wrestling community.  These scholarships are one example of how Chapters contribute locally.  To learn more and join WIBN to help support, grow, and protect the sport, please visit:  https://www.wrestlersinbusiness.org/

Congratulations to Levi Andrews for being awarded the WIBN Charlotte 2022 Scholarship.  Levi is an incredibly impressive young man who has accomplished incredible things both on and off the mat.  His wrestling credentials are historic...4X North Carolina state champion (only the 10th wrestler to accomplish this), 2X NWCA Academic All-American, and 3X team captain.  Levi was also an All-Conference performer in both football and golf.  Off the mat, he was an exceptional student and leader within his community.  Levi graduated in the top 7% of his graduating class and served as a youth leader in his community church.  He is an incoming freshman at Appalachian State University where he will wrestle for Coach JohnMark Bentley.

Criteria for selection included:  academic performance, community involvement, extracurricular activities, leadership and character, and wrestling credentials.  Each recipient represents the very best from among the wrestling community and were selected from among a number of highly qualified and impressive candidates.  WIBN Charlotte is very appreciative for sponsors who contributed to the scholarship.  Sponsors included:  NY Life, D9 Brewing, Elite Transit, ADP, Atlantic Packaging, CORE Wrestling, and Sportsmed Properties, Mohawk Group, Phoenix Legal Innovations, and USAW-NC.

While WIBN does not deliberately conduct fundraising, a by-product of successful networking events does raise money to fund programs such as the WIBN Charlotte Scholarship.  To learn more about getting involved and joining WIBN, please visit:  https://www.wrestlersinbusiness.org/
